Minutes

January 29, 1998

The meeting was called to order by Chairman John Christiansen at 19:14 hours in the court room of the St Clair County courthouse. Those in attendance were John Christiansen, Don Johnson, John Gover, and Tracye Hampton, Jerry Hart, Melvin Bonner, Charlott Bonner, and Robert Bray. The minutes form the October 30, 1997 meeting was read by Sec/Tres John Gover, Don Johnson made a motion to except the minutes as read Robert Bray seconded the motion and all approved.

Chairman John Christiansen opened the floor for discussion on the Train the trainer for Haz-mat Awareness Classes that would be coming up by the university fire service, and by SEMA. SEMA is requesting a list of names of the persons that would be interested in taking the course. The list put together at the January meeting consist of Bill Theal, Robert Bray, Jerry Hart, and John Gover. Also John Christiansen stated that the LEPC needed to organize a way for all training being put on thought the county be listed with the LEPC so notice can be made available to all county organizations. Don Johnson Stated that it was the intent of the St, Clair County Communication Center to start to broadcast a summary of up coming events in the county on a regular bases.

John Christiansen stated that there would be a Drug Lab Safety class in Eldrado on Saturday February 1, 1998 at SAC-OSAGE Electric COOP, and there will be a Fire fighter safety and survival class on Feb 20, 1998. Collins fire will have a Hazard Awareness Class Feb 28, 1998 and a fire streams class March 20,21 1998.

John Christiansen made the reminder that TEIR II reports need to be in by March 1, 1998. Don Johnson made a motion to publish a public notice in the St. Clair County Courier and the Appleton City Paper about the TEIR II deadline Jerry Hart Seconded the motion and all approved.

According to the By Laws the Election of the Vice-Chairman will be in January 1998. Chairman John Christiansen opened the floor for nominations for Vice-Chairman there were no nominations made so Jerry Hart made the Motion to reinstate Don Johnson as Vice Chairman for a Four Year term, Robert Bray Seconded and all approved.

John Christiansen reminded the group that the State Conference would be at TAN_TARA April 12-15 1998.

Don Johnson made the motion to Adjourn Jerry Hart Seconded all approved

Next Meeting of the LEPC will be March 26, 1998 at the Court Room in the Court House
