ID Badges were done at Sac-Osage Hospital and at Collins Fire Department.
Training:
Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Planning – Jeanne attended the
Missouri Hospital Association training on February 19th.
Hazmat plan to have Michael White do training.
Weather Spotters setting up a date with Steve Runnels
SEMA
Hazardous Flood & Preparedness 2/23/09 to 2/24/09 was attended by
Jeanne Millsap.
Recovery from Disaster: The Local Government Role 3/3/09 to 3/4/09 in
Rolla will be attended by John Christiansen, Sheila Christiansen,
David Christiansen, and Jeanne Millsap.
Rapid Assessment Workshop 3/19/09 will be attended by John
Christiansen and Jeanne Millsap.
FEMA
NIMS need to continue working on these. A 300 and 400 class is trying to
form in Joplin.
TransCare Training Springfield April 14
A tornado Drill for the State will be on 3/10/09 unless bad weather, then will be
on 3/12/09.
National Sheltering System training will be held on 3/20/09.
Legal Aspects of Crisis Events will be held in Jefferson City on March 13
Conferences:
Emergency Management – 3/24/09 to 3/27/09 will be in Branson.
Mutual Aid Agreement for truck & armed guard for Strategic National Stockpile to be
picked up for the County was signed and copy given to John Christiansen for the
St. Clair County Health Center.
HAM Radio net – Steve Pierce reported for the 2nd only 1 person called in; the 9th none;
16th one; 23rd none. We need to pursue getting a repeater for Scott Camp. Note
from Wayne Justis about maintaining his repeater as privately owned. He is
allowing us to continue to use it for a net check-in on Monday nights.
Sheltering – Sheila Ash reported use of employees from Family Services helping in
shelter in the South. Four teams will be setting up for future deployments. They
reissue food stamps. Earl Ackley said that the Baptist Church is checking with
their Board for okay as a shelter. Appleton City may have several signing up. He
can do a site survey for shelters. National Shelter System workshop will be held
on March 20 at SEMA EOC in Jefferson City.
Bio-Terrorism/Pandemic Influenza – Region D BERT mtg. 3/11/09; Planner/Volunteer
Coodinator mtg. 3/17/09; RHSOC meeting 4/22/09 - Jeanne Millsap
Emergency Management Grant – John Christiansen reported that the Commissioners are
looking at this grant. The EOC grant was not okayed due to the matching funds.
Jeanne mentioned the grant for remote community alert systems available through
SEMA. Bonnie has 911 grant applications, may put our two of the counties
together.
By-Laws – we will be voting in March on Vice Chairman & Secretary/Treasurer.
EOC Exercise date was discussed. We will hold it in conjunction with our LEPC meeting
on March 19. Jeanne will write up the exercise.
