Minutes

July 31, 1997

The meeting was called to order by Chairman John Christiansen, those in attendance were John Christiansen, Don Johnson, John Gover, and Tracye Hampton, Roger Wood, Michael Barkofske, Brad Hughes, Jerry Hart, & Bob Bray. The minutes form the June 26, 1997 meeting was paraphrased by Vice Chairman Don Johnson due to the absence of Sec/Tres from the June meeting. The June Minutes will be submitted in the August or September meeting for approval.

New Business

Chairman John Christiansen he had submitted a bill for the excepting of bids for a computer system for the LEPC to the County Clerk, The LEPC had approved the advertising for bids in an earlier meeting. John Gover made a motion to pay this bill, Don Johnson 2nd the motion and all approved.

John Christiansen submitted Two bids which were received for the computer system, Kens Computers for $2252 with no maintenance, and a bid from Excel Computers for $2020 including 3 year warrinety will load software, and then submitted a second bid before the deadline of $1813. Don Johnson made a motion to purchase the computer from Excel computers and Tracye Hampton 2nd the motion and all approved.

There was group discussion that scene the bids were lower than we expected for the computer to add some additional features and hardware. It was decided to purchase a Hewlett Packard 800 series Color Ink Jet printer and a Digital camera to aid in the site plan preparations. Jerry Hart made the motion to purchase the computer approved in the above motion and to include the additional equipment with the computer if the balance would not exceed $3000. Don Johnson 2nd the motion and all approved.

John Christiansen submitted a letter addressed to Emergency Management Directors\LEPC about possibly matching funds from the State EMA. The group was questioning if these funds could be used to remodel a office space in the basement of the court house. Don Johnson made a motion to have John Christiansen look in to this matter with SEMA and the County Commissioners Jerry Hart 2nd and all approved.

John Christiansen is to check on possibility of having the next meeting at Appleton City.

John Gover is to check on having First Class Flite of Osceola Fly aerial photos of the Tier II sites in the County Using Digital Photography.

Mike Barkofske submitted a copy of a letter to Carol Conduff from Kansas City Clinical Neurology Associaties, Ltd concerning the Hazmat Incidence of 6/23/1997 in Twp 36N Range 25W Sect 4 St Clair County Mo. Letter on file with Sec/Tres.

Jerry Hart made the Motion to adjourn Don Johnson 2nd all approved.
